How long will the results of PMU last?
Colour duration primarily depends on your skin’s natural oils, oily skin has shorter colour duration. Sweating and sun exposure also reduce colour faster. On average, expected time until a new procedure and refreshment is between 12 to 36 months. Oily skin between 9 to 18 months. Please note that everyone is different and everyone heals/retains pigment differently. Also, following Aftercare advice determines the best results.
The success of the treatment depends on the following:
-
Skin type and biology
-
Post-treatment flow and care
-
Exposure to different external factors

Above factors are out of control for any artist, any possibility to provide guarantees on treatments are excluded.
Does it hurt?
You might feel a slight discomfort rather than pain for 5-10 minutes. As the tiny needles enter the top layer of the skin you will feel a scratching sensation, once phase 1 is completed you will then be numbed up so I can go over each stroke again and create the desired effect, at this point you won't feel a thing, in fact most of my clients fall asleep.
How long does the procedure take?
Microblading procedure takes up to 1.5 hrs. Ombre up to 2.5 hrs and Hyper Realism up to 3.5 hrs. I start with the measuring which can take up to 40 mins, once shape is perfect for you and colour is matched, I will begin creating your brows.
Will I need an allergy test?
Yes, all clients will need an allergy test. This needs to be done at least 24hrs before your treatment and is part of your consultation. Please click the link here if you would like to order a Patch Test or request a face to face consultation.
I have older permanent makeup on my brows, can I still book in?
If old work is very dark and covers the whole of the eyebrow, then it would be best to wait for your PMU to fade or book in with us for laser removal which has proven to be very successful. Please send me a clear brow photo in natural day light if possible, make-up free and I'll offer you my best advice.
How do you choose the colour and what shall I expect?
Pigment is chosen on the day to match your natural brow hair and skin tone. Post treatment and while your skin is healing, colour can be quite dark during the first week, brows look bigger and bolder, from day 7 colour starts to reduce and lose 50-60 percent of its intensity. If you think the colour is too dark, do not try to remove it yourself, please be patient and wait 7 to 10 days for the colour to soften on its own. Brows can heal a little patchy, 'this is normal' and why it is vital for you to return for Stage 2.

I'm going on holiday, is that a problem?

While your permanent makeup is healing (within the first 14 days) no exceptions can you go in the sun, swim or sweat. The first 2 weeks are paramount to achieving great healed results. All these elements will fade your permanent makeup down, you can apply spf 50 to your brows after 14 days.

Due to your new cell production from treatment, your skin is at high risk of burning. You MUST wear SPF30 or SPF50 on your brows when going out in the sun. If you don't, the pigment will turn grey and lighten considerably which is undesirable and expensive.

I'm getting married and would like my brows done for my wedding. When do you recommend I have the treatment?

You've got to plan ahead. I would allow at least 3-4 months. You will have your initial treatment and then it's a 8 week wait until the top up, then a further 4 weeks healing after this.
I would then try to allow a further month just to let the colour soften just in case the colour is bolder than you had anticipated. Plan ahead, leave plenty of time to ride out the healing process and enjoy your honeymoon without the fear of ruining your permanent makeup.

Do my beauty products affect the pigment retention?

Yes, and this is why we discuss what beauty products you use.

You really need to look at what ingredients are in your products. Any AHA's, BHA's or products that claim to be anti-ageing will have a negative effect on your brows. This is because they are encouraging a high skin cell turnover, and pigment sits in these skin cells, if the skin is constantly re-generating it will break the pigment down quicker which makes them look light and faded.

Look out for Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA's), Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHA's) and Retin A... these are present in all different forms: Creams, Serums, Peels, Cleansers, Toners, Masks etc.

If you are unsure, send me your product list and we will check them for you.
